re: Character bios/introductions!

SWTOR sets up a great universe for some exciting stories, epic rivalries, and interesting characters. So, let's share a bit about who our characters are, whether that be a detailed paragraph about your character's personality, history and aspirations. Or, simply a list of their physical attributes and a brief psych profile.

As added incentive seeing as how I have yet had a chance to acquire my fortune in credits, those participating shall receive a free private dance from either my wookie companion or (given the proper amount of booze) my ruggedly handsome self.

Post em' up! (Mine incoming soon)

re: Character bios/introductions!

INCOMING TRANSMISSION... ... ...

CONNECTION ESTABLISHED

...THE FOLLOWING IS AN EXCERPT FROM A CORRELIAN PRISON RECORD...

Name: Dule Palacost
Race: Human
Height: 6'5''
Weight: Roughly 220 lbs
Hair: Dark brown
Eyes: Green
Distinguishing Characteristics: Several tattoos (none gang affiliated), one old scar on his face that looks as if it was received in battle (when asked the origin, Mr. Palacost laughed and stated that "some broad had gotten overly aggressive one night"
Profession: Freighter pilot, gambler, "professional drinker"
Charges: Smuggling, resisting arrest, verbal abuse towards an officer, public intoxication, public indecency
Psyche: Mr. Palacost was apprehended by authorities after attempting to smuggle in a rather large shipment of spice to Corellia, he was also very intoxicated at the time and was verbally abusive to arresting officers. Upon being brought to our facility, Mr. Palacost was read the charges against him, he found it all rather hillarious. During processing, Mr. Palacost proceeded to berate the guards and made several references to their mothers and himself locked in what he called, "an intimate slam session."

Following processing I was given the opportunity to evaluate the prisoner. Mr. Palacost's personality is that of an individual who does not take much seriously. He proceeded to shrug off the majority of my questions with jokes or vague responses; however, I did notice a slight change in demeanor when asked about his family, particularly any siblings he may have, this seemed to prompt feelings of anger in the prisoner and he quickly dismissed the question.

After speaking with the prisoner at length I have developed a profile of Dule Palacost. What we have is an individual who has an extreme contempt for authority and would prefer to make his own way in life, whether that be outside the law or not. This individual lives in excess; drinking, womanizing, and chasing credits seem to make up most of his time. When asked about the two blasters that were confiscated from him, Mr. Palacost stated that they were for looks and he had no idea which end was the "business end", I concluded that this was a joke, as he grinned rather broadly when asked. I have concluded that, though Mr. Palacost seems to take everything rather lightly, there is a side to this individual, perhaps repressed for one reason or another, that strives to do good in cases of intense moral contest. Curiously, even when faced with the amount of prison time currently weighed against him, Mr. Palacost displayed no remorse or regret for his actions.

It is also of note that once the interview had concluded and the guards were removing the prisoner, I asked him what he was going to do to better himself during his lengthy incarceration, to which he simply grinned at me and stated, "I'm just passing through, doc." This may be cause to suspect an escape attempt in the future, extra security would be advised.

... ... ...

IT WOULD APPEAR THAT ONE MONTH FOLLOWING INCARCERATION, DULE PALACOST ESCAPED FROM THE PRISON. A BOUNTY STILL STANDS ON CORRELIA.

CONNECTION TERMINATED

re: Character bios/introductions!

Dary lay back against the wall above the bed, a datapad resting in her fingers. A belt of glass cut through two sides of the room, curving smoothly at the corner. Outside her windows, she watched the speeders race through the copper-and-chrome city of Coruscant, whose buildings reflected brilliantly in the late sun. Bright as it was outside, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong. There was a bump at the door and her lightsaber was drawn in apparently the same instant. As the door slid up, C1-N1 appeared, holding a tray. “Dinner!” he cried nervously. The green energy beams slid back into the hilt with a tchk-chk.

“You brought me dinner? When has this ever happened before?” His large lightbulb eyes looked at her innocently. “Wait, wait... You can cook?! Why didn’t you tell me—”

Though there had not been a sound, Dary whipped around. Someone with large goggles covering his face was poised over the bed, holding an aimed blaster in his left hand and having just grasped the datapad in his right. She immediately reflected a blaster bolt, knocking the weapon out of her attacker’s hand and sending it smoking onto the floor. Before she could do anything, he punched the long, narrow window with his spiked arm and hurled through it sideways. Stepping over the smashed glass, she peered through the jagged opening and saw that he had landed on a speeder that was hovering below.

“C1, move!”

“Where should I—”

Dary waved her hand and pushed him aside so hard that his head impacted with the wall, making an electrical sound as it was severed. Ignoring C1’s cries of anguish as his head rolled down the corridor, she ducked under the slow front door and leapt into her speeder. As she pulled out and dove below the line of traffic, she mumbled “I really hate the C series.”

Btw, I started writing my data pad thing before I saw your guys' intros, but I like yours so much better! Great job, very believable.

re: Hazith Yar'din

There is no emotion, there is peace.

There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.

There is no passion, there is serenity.

There is no chaos, there is harmony.

There is no death, there is the Force.

I have been saying that to myself a great deal today.

I leave Coruscant in a few hours to face the trials, and I feel…. nervous? anxious? excited? I’m not sure. But whatever it is, or was, is gone again.

There is no emotion, there is peace.

I have excelled at my studies here at the Academy, but mostly in history and saber skills. I have shown an affinity for empathy, or so my instructors have said. I have only ever known this life, like all I am surrounded by, so empathy is not so hard. But the code leads me. And the force. I know that all I need is there, all I am to be is in the force.

Soon, if I am able to pass the trials...

No. I must not fear the trials. Fear leads to anger. Anger to hate. Hate to the dark side.

There is no passion, there is serenity.

Soon, when I complete the trials, I will be a padawan and my direct training begins.

I am ready.

There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.

Knowledge is the most important tool a jedi can possess, so the path from padawan to jedi is the most important path ahead of me.

I leave for Tython.

re: Dur'ath'nuruodo

Dur'ath'nuruodo

My character is a Chiss Imperial Agent. His family Dur has a long standing and history in the diplomacy world, as such he has been brought up to be adaptable and cunning. <Totally making that up> However he feels that this legacy is weak. Talking has its uses, but he feels that sometimes the vibroblade gets things done faster and cleaner. As such, he departed from family norms and adopted the Nuruodo family, which brought him into the world of the Chiss military. <This much is actually derived from SW lore; see name explanation below.> Naturally the combination of his skill sets made him ideal for the world of subterfuge and espionage.

The Chiss name is comprised of three portions. [Family Name]'[Root Name]'[Occupational Name]. The family name is your family name, your root name forms the basis of what most others will call you, and the occupational name is actually another family name that more or less is tied to the occupation you end up choosing. For example Grand Admiral Thrawn, a Chiss from Zahn's Heir to the Empire series, is fully named Mitth'raw'nuruodo. Thrawn is basically the center the name, so likewise with my character you can call him Rath. As you can see my character and Thrawn share the Nuruodo family name which as I said before identifies them as members of the Chiss military.

Motivations:
I want to use this to help me guide some of the decisions I will be making. Normally when I play Bioware RPGs, I would just choose conversation points that advance my goals. This time I think it would be more fun to actually define a character and see where the story takes me. For the time being these motivations will guide my decision making process. I can try to add more or modify these as the story advances.

1.) Every action and decision should be to serve the EMPIRE first. The Sith are merely allies in this, no more.
2.) Avoid drawing attention to myself. Killing is often times the worst thing you can do to compromise the mission.
3.) Professionalism is paramount to getting the job done. Emotion, whether love or rage, leaves you exposed.

I agree 100% with this and it is the same thing I've been doing with my characters, really makes the game more interesting in my oppinion. (Though I may not get the light 3 or dark 3 gear or whatever, it's all cosmetic in the end.)
